Since national groups like American Principles Project and FreedomWorks swooped into states to control the dialogue around the movement to stop the Common Core State Standards, our elected officials are now convinced that what we all want and need are "high standards that are internationally benchmarked" for our children and our schools.
The People, LLC maintains that any set of standards--and especially those that are internationally benchmarked--are Un-American and the exact opposite of what citizens against CCSS actually want.
It’s time we take a look at exactly what these special interest groups want, which, in turn, may help you to re-evaluate your position regarding standards:
This works well for countries like China (Communist) and Finland (Socialist) because, in order to control the output of something (which in this case is our children), you must also control the input. In Communist and Socialist countries, life experiences are designed by government to be the same regarding attitudes, values, beliefs, customs, and information.
In the United States, however, it is actually our diversity that is affecting the results of standardized tests. Parental influence, influence of home life, cultural diversity, and transfer of knowledge is not the same for each child and, thus, everything that is entering each child's mind is not being controlled by government policy.
In order to control the entire input to our children, our government must, therefore, eliminate our country's diversity and redesign our families by grading parents into compliance:
Legislation filed in Mississippi in 2015 has been re-introduced for the 2016 legislative session. House Bill 4 proposes to "set standards for parental accountability."
If House Bill 4 passes this session, parents in Mississippi will receive a grade on their child's report card:
"(2) Each report card for students in kindergarten through Grade 12 shall include a section in which the teacher grades parental involvement as satisfactory, in need of improvement or unsatisfactory..."
To protect their children, parents must not rely on government programs and should never think of government as their “partner in parenting”--which includes directing the education of their children.
As Taxpayer-Funded School Choice Initiatives are allowed to continue, parents will increasingly be required to perform to certain benchmarks; families will become standardized one child at a time; and, the United States will come closer to hitting the final nail in the coffin of freedom while it takes its place as just another Socialist country.
