On April 8, 2019, the Louisiana Legislature will embark on yet another legislative session. As citizens, we all know what that means: on behalf of special interest groups and government administrators, our legislators will attempt to force even more government intrusion into our lives.
The People, LLC has decided to bestow an award (of sorts) to the sponsor(s) of the bill submitted for consideration during the 2019 legislative session which proposes the most outrageous government overreach. We contend that our legislators must be recognized for their failure to uphold our constitutional rights. If they are not proud of their accomplishment in this regard, perhaps they will change their ways. We welcome you to submit your nominations to [email protected]. We will also be offering our own nominations throughout the session. All nominations will be highlighted here, on our Facebook page, & Twitter until the winner is announced.
When the session concludes, the sponsor(s) of the bill with the most outrageous government overreach will be sent our Wolf at the Door certificate, a pocket U.S. Constitution, and a link to the Louisiana Constitution which is actually already on their own legislative site.
