MORE DIALOGUE STEMMING FROM REP. SEABAUGH'S RESPONSE TO OUR PREVIOUS HEADLINE: SENATE SUCCEEDS IN STOPPING HOUSE REPUBLICANS FROM VIOLATING CITIZENS' RIGHTS...AGAIN!!!
Rep. Seabaugh: “While I certainly agree with you that there are too many liberal "Republicans" in the Legislature, there is something to be said for telling the truth. The original headline blaming "House Republicans" for a bill that was introduced by a democrat and supported by Democrats 37-2 and opposed by House Republicans 34-20 was simply inaccurate and intentionally misleading. It is Democrats who introduced and (almost) unanimously supported it. Why not spew some of your venom at the REAL target.”
The People, LLC: “We call out All who support the usurpation of our authority as The People, Rep. Alan Seabaugh; however, every party must sweep itself clean at this point. Being Republicans, we must clean up our own party before telling any other what to do.
Our abhorrence of this bill is evident and our opinion has been shared across the political spectrum in our state and, increasingly, across this nation.
What is happening at our Capitol is an affront to all sensibilities except for those benefitting monetarily.
We expect All reps to protect us against such attacks on our liberties. We expect our Majority in the House & Senate to take that lead.
And, Rep. Seabaugh, as long as HB 1144 (Leger) could not pass without Republican support, then ALL House Republicans are to blame. You all bear equal responsibility when you do not stand up as vehemently against these actions as those like Rep. Broadwater who stand vehemently to defend the indefensible.
Rep. Seabaugh: “When we both agree that the liberal agenda is dangerous to our state and nation, we should also agree that, by and large, democrats champion that agenda and are largely responsible for its success. The reality of the math is that when democrats block vote, it only takes 12-15 ‘Republicans’ to cross over and get the bill passed. There are at least 15-20 ‘Republicans’ in the La Legislature that are truly "Liberal" by every definition of the word. Holding the rest of the Republican delegation responsible for their actions and publicly throwing the whole delegation under the bus when the vast majority of the delegation actually voted against the bill is just one more example of Republicans eating our own which only serves to weaken us in the face of an organized and committed opponent. Why not support and encourage those that do the right thing instead of throwing the entire delegation under the bus? Whether you want to accept it or not, ‘House Republicans’ are the ONLY line of defense in the La Legislature at this point. Almost all success we have had in blocking our liberal governor and his progressive allies has come in the House and I don't see that changing until we complete another election cycle.”
The People, LLC: “Rep. Alan Seabaugh, you are speaking as though this is the only bill passed this session which violates our rights and that these usurpations did not occur under our Republican Governor and our Super Majority Legislature prior to the elections. We have watched our individual liberties trampled on for decades now. As we said in our post: being absent on a vote or voting NO is not even close to enough. We should be seeing knock-down/drag-outs between Representatives who disagree on the sole basis of an attempted violation of our individual rights. Instead, we have witnessed in many more than one committee meeting when any representative dared bring up violations of our constitutions that existed in a bill our Republican Majority committees simply broke out in literal laughter.
It was our Republican Party which sold out to the business lobby by signing the pledge from Blueprint LA which was led by the platform writing of Camille Conaway who hailed from the United Nations and Obama for America and who received a personal invite from Gov. Jindal on the Monday after he was first elected to head his policy team. From there, she and Steven Waguespack made their way to LABI...imagine that."

"It was also our Republican Party who courted Democrats to cross party lines. Where was the outcry? Where were the protests from those in the Party? We complained. Did you??

We encourage you to take a look at other articles regarding the LAGOP and Gov. Jindal's actions from that time which can be found on the website of that link. You may see the need to get serious about fixing any of this sooner rather than later.
We will not be thankful until those in the party do as we are doing and put up a real fight to take the party back and invite the progressives in your ranks to leave. We don't want just another Dog and Pony Show, btw, and we definitely seem fairly adept at being able to tell the difference.
